VIII. CIRCLE OF FIFTHS play the following pattern starting on C or D. Repeat a fourth up or a fifth down – so in this case the next pattern would be on F. Continue until through the entire cycle of fifths. Then move the pattern an octave higher adjusting the fingering so that 3 is on the upper drone note. This is a great finger strengthener for 4 (or 3) and demands a lot of rotation to target the other notes while keeping the drone note in place. It’s also great for learning note names in cross string patterns.
